Land of the Picts
2000 Years ago a number of Iron Age tribes lived in northern Scotland.
These tribes gradually amalgamated and by AD297 they were known as the Picti, the Picts.
Today most of what we know about the Picts comes from the mysterious stones which they carved with pictures and symbols.
By AD848 Pictavia, The Land Of The Picts, was united with the Kingdom of the Scots creating the foundations of modern day Scotland.
